Creative update
I started writing Chapter 15 of Shield of the Goddess in July, and hope to have it finished next month. I also started writing a standalone article about ancient civilizations that I hope to finish then as well.
I released a new song, Waltz for LeAnne, a waltz for my wife I wrote in 2016.

Personal update
As I write this, I have returned from a weeklong summer camp in Washington State. I gave a lightning talk about my writing journey in the past year. I also displayed the Map of Runonia at the camp art show.
I played a lot of music at camp. One of the highlights was playing one of my favorite songs, a song by The Moody Blues called Question. It’s the only song the band released where Justin Hayward, the lead singer and guitarist, plays in Open C tuning. Here’s a video of Justin playing it on a 12-string from a concert in 1998.
I played it on my classical guitar, and sang it, a bit slower and without the backing band, of course. Another musician at camp told me I did pretty well.
I also played Inscription of Seikilos/Saltarello, the same medley of ancient and renaissance music I mentioned in Wanderer’s Tales #19.
By far the high point for me was a moment where my friends in the celtic band at camp, played Waltz for LeAnne, and my wife and I danced to it together for the first time.
Overall a wonderful and relaxing week.
My freelance writing and editing work continues to pick up. I am now editing three technical books for one client, and have written three technical blog articles for another client. I am grateful to have the work.

In Wanderer’s Tales #15, I mentioned that next year, in 2027, all the chapters I released here in 2025 (up to Chapter 9) will need a paid subscription (except Chapter 1, which will always be public). If you haven’t already, now is the time to catch up. I'll post another reminder in a few months.
